Ms. Lara Hauer taught the Inside C Writing class for students in Grade 7+ by Eduling International Academy and wrote this reflection after finishing the class. Inside C Writing this term started with a personal narrative project, followed by problem-solution and persuasive paragraphs and essays, and culminating with a research report. Throughout the 24 weeks, we practiced all stages of the writing process (prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, publishing).
Some interesting research topics included the process of moon formation, origin of COVID-19, computer hackers, and identity disorders.
In addition, students wrote about weekly journal prompts on a great variety of topics. Some discovered a passion for storytelling using dialogue and plot elements like suspense.
Through the required writings and weekly journals, students produced different types of writing with better organization, idea development, and language use. In class, we practiced new techniques for prewriting and improving word choice and sentence combining.
Overall, this group demonstrated a positive attitude toward writing and communicating in English. I enjoyed watching them grow together!

Lớp học Inside C kì này bắt đầu bằng bài viết tự sự, theo sau là bài luận về vấn đề và giải pháp và bài luận có tính thuyết phục, và cuối cùng là bài báo cáo nghiên cứu. Qua 24 tuần, lớp học luyện tập tất các bước của quá trình viết: tím ý, viết bản nháp, sửa bản nháp, và chia sẻ bài viết.
Một số các chủ đề thú vị trong bài báo cáo của các em gồm: quá trính hình thành của mặt trăng, nguồn gốc của COVID-19, hack máy tính, và vấn đề rối loạn danh tính.
Ngoài ra, học sinh còn viết về bài hàng tuần về rất nhiều các chủ đề khác nhau. Một số học sinh trở lên yêu thích kể chuyện sáng tạo qua dùng hội thoại hay phát triển cốt truyện bằng cách thêm các chi tiết có tính hồi hộp cho người đọc.
Qua các bài viết chính và bài viết hàng tuần bắt buộc, học sinh đã viết nhiều thể loại bài viết bằng cách phát triển ý, tổ chức ý, và sử dụng ngôn ngữ tốt hơn. Ở mỗi buổi học, lớp cũng luyện tập các kĩ thuật viết tìm ý và các bài tập phát triển từ vựng và sử dụng ngữ pháp.
Nhìn chung, lớp học có thái độ tích cực với viết và giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh. Tôi rất vui được chứng kiến học sinh trong lớp học và tiến bộ cùng nhau.
